What is an Adult Indigo?

Here are some excerpts from an article that was forwarded to me about Adult Indigos and Indigo Children

"In power, Indigos are aware, bright, creative, and independent individuals. They live life from higher principles. These advanced souls feel that all life should be honored and treated with integrity, compassion, and love. They follow their own inner knowing and abide by higher truths. They understand spiritual concepts more easily than physical concepts. However, they are highly inquisitive and curious about life in a three-dimensional world, and they need room and time to explore it."

"These incredibly gifted and sensitive individuals are constantly questioning and searching for verification to support their inner knowingness. Indigos are more interested in understanding the truth and higher life principles rather than in learning about society's rules, beliefs or limited versions of reality. Indigos will not be limited by antiquated ideals or short-sighted beliefs."

"Indigos cannot be coerced into doing anything they do not believe in. They will not accept directions from others unless they feel that they share the same ethical beliefs and the same inherent understanding of the truth. No amount of social pressure will force them to compromise or follow rules they do not agree with. They do not believe in the concepts of guilt and punishment, so neither can be used effectively to persuade the Indigos to go against their basic beliefs.

"With their clarity and innocence, Indigos are extraordinarily truthful. Much to the dismay of society, Indigos are honest, forthright, and unwilling to be cajoled or forced into any kind of mold. They cannot be manipulated by peer pressure or by promises of acceptance and love from others. Indigos must live their lives in accordance with the highest principles that they understand. "Selling out" causes then to become depressed, anxious, and self-destructive; it goes against their basic nature."

"While Indigos are very honest and independent, they are also very compassionate and accepting."

"They understand that people sometimes create dramas in their lives and can be very compassionate toward these people. However, they are also aware that there is a greater picture and a higher purpose to life. They see that people are divine beings who can become lost in the "movies" and "dramas" of their own creations. They feel that people will eventually "wake up" from their dramas and comprehend the true meaning of life. They believe everyone must be allowed to grow and awaken at his own pace."

"Indigos have difficulty putting the concepts that they intrinsically understand as truths into words. There is not always the vocabulary to explain what they know. In addition, Indigos feel that putting such expansive ideas and concepts into linear language limits the holographic picture of what life truly is. They do no separate their lives into categories of work, play, relationships, and education. Rather they see that all of these aspects fit together as a whole experience."

"Indigos can be very fragile and sensitive beings, much like children. Out of power, they can become frightened and disoriented. "

"Because Indigos are just starting to show up on the planet, they do no have much reinforcement or many teachers who can explain to them what's really happening here. There is very little physical evidence at this time to support what Indigos feel to be the truth."

"To stay in power, Indigos must trust what they feel inside to be the truth. They must remember that they came to the planet with all the knowledge they need to live life with joy, fulfillment, and harmony. They need to stay committed to and stand firm with their beliefs that love and truth will ultimately show life for what it really is -- a beautiful and creative _expression of "All That Is". By being a living example of the principles, Indigos will eventually show people how to create a peaceful and harmonious world."

"Out-of-power, Indigos can sometimes feel isolated and misunderstood, but they also seem to be aware that Life surrounds and encompasses them, and this gives them an inner knowledge that they are never really alone. Although Indigos are very sensitive, they are also very independent. While they love people, they don't seem to need that much interaction with others."

"Meditation and prayer are useful tools to help Indigos stay in touch with their spiritual undertanding and to stay in balance. Indigos are fully actualized human beings who believe that there is more to us as beings than is physically apparent. They understand energy and consciousness. In power, they live from high principles, from conscious love, and a greater "knowing". They are aware that all of life in connected."
