Inspire Me, Mate!

With the recent passing of wildlife advocate, conservationist, and media personality, Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter), I found myself acutely aware of what an inspiration to the masses he had been in life. Sure, I always found Steve incredibly enthusiastic and entertaining as I watched him handle some of the most deadly animals on Animal Planet, yet it took his untimely death for me to truly appreciate what a bright light on earth he was. He lived his life with impressive amounts of passion and enthusiasm (what he wanted to be remembered for) and spent his moments as a purposeful teacher, protector of wildlife, and promoter of conservation of the Earth's natural resources. I not only recognize him as a fellow lightworker, but a powerful role model for humanity today. He saw himself as an ordinary "bloke", that chose to use his passion as a motivator to bring awareness to many. His time was very precious here on Earth, and he made each day count. What a way of life to aspire to. Think about it. What makes you feel passionate and enthusiastic? How can you spend your energy and precious time serving a greater purpose? Life can be a rewarding adventure (no crocodiles needed).

Although, I have been saddened by Steve Irwin's transition, I recognize the gift that has been given to me by the Universe. I received a wake up call to look for daily opportunities to be inspired by others. You may find that some of the most inspirational people are right under your nose!
